admin / June 18, 2018

But Now this part is hidden, only dome camera is there in the same Tab. But we can use the Vray Physical Camera in our scene by scripting. Here in this video you can see the process aloso you can see how to make the script and use it when you need the Camera.

From 2016 on, max uses new Physical camera based on code from Vlado (Vray dev), it’s in the Standard category, not Vray:

If you want the traditional VRay Physical camera instead (basically deprecated and not available from the UI), enter vrayCreateVRayPhysicalCamera() in the MAXScript Listener and press Enter, it will create one.

Solution:

If users would still like to create a VRayPhysicalCamera in newer versions of 3ds Max there are a couple of ways to do it. Both involve using MAXScript or a pre-created MAXScript tool.

METHOD #1: Using MAXScript in the MAXScript Listener

  1. Go to the Scripting > MAXScript Listener
  2. In the Listener, paste the following text: vrayCreateVRayPhysicalCamera()
  3. Press Enter.
  4. A VRayPhysicalCamera should be created at the Origin (0,0,0) the next time you click into the Viewport. In addition, this can be confirmed in the MAXScript Listener via the blue text providing the camera’s creation coordinates.Questions and suggestions regarding this tutorial please leave in comments.
